Autumn bulbs

Spring-flowering bulbs, also known as autumn bulbs, are planted in the autumn and flower in the spring or early summer. The diversity of autumn bulbs is astounding – from late winter’s dainty little snowdrops and crocuses to spring’s sea of tulips and stately alliums.

Growing autumn bulbs yourself is fun and it creates new possibilities. Growing your own bulbs gives you more varieties to choose from than buying ready-grown bulbs from a shop. When you can choose, it’s also more fun to experiment with what looks best in your indoor pots.
Once the flowers have bloomed, it is a good idea to store them in a cool place overnight – they will last longer.
