Dark purple spring onion with a mild flavour. Sow every three weeks to harvest all summer. Older plants produce bottle-shaped, purple bulbs. Prefers humus-rich and preferably chalky soils. Water in dry periods for a delicate taste. Cover with a fibre cloth to protect from onion flies.

Sow sparsely in damp seed compost at 20°C. After sprouting, place in a bright, cool area. Give fertiliser sparingly. Can be transplanted to 1 plant/pot of fertilised soil. Harden off and transplant outside after the last frost.
Level soil, water before sowing. Keep seeds moist until they germinate.
