Broad beans are easy to grow and can be eaten boiled as soon as they are fully developed. Dry beans can also be kept over the winter. Threefold White is a broad bean variety with flat beans and large pods. It prefers slightly loamy, humus-rich and well-drained soils. For best results, soak the seeds and make sure to water the soil before sowing. Keep the soil moist by watering in dry periods. Also, earth up the plants when they are approximately 10 centimeters tall. In windy areas, they may need support.
