The most crunchy of all root vegetables. This variety has purple skin. Harvest about 7 cm tubers, about 14 wks after sowing. Prefers nutrient-rich, well-drained sandy soil that retains moisture. Thin out early. Fibre cloth protects against insects. Sow in cycles for a longer harvest period.
