Well-known beetroot with the traditional flat, round shape. Dark red colour. Suitable for pickling whole or eating fresh. The young leaves can be used in the same manner as chard. Don’t sow too early! The plants may bloom if exposed to spring frost. They will then give no harvest. Best grown in nutrient-rich, humus-rich soil that retains moisture. Thin out early. Loosen the soil around the plants.
