An oblong beetroot, excellent to slice for pickling. Produces high yields of fully coloured beetroot. Can be pickled. The young leaves can be used in the same manner as chard. Don’t sow too early! The plants may bloom if exposed to frost. They will then give no harvest. Best grown in nutrient-rich, humus-rich soil that retains moisture. Thin out early. Loosen the soil around the plants.
