Popular summer flower. Double variety in shades of yellow, apricot and orange. Beautiful in flower beds, bouquets and the vegetable patch. The vibrant flowers are edible and decorative in salads and drinks. Prefers nutrient-rich and well-drained soils, but is undemanding. Water in dry periods. Cut back spent blooms frequently to lengthen the flowering period. Seed willingly. Can be used as green manure in the autumn.
