Pearl onions are especially mild with a lovely aroma - good raw in salads or hamburgers. Small onions can be used as pickled onions. Harvest and dry when the tops fall over. Can be stored for many months. Prefers humus-rich and preferably chalky soils. Water in dry periods for a better harvest. Cover with fibre cloth.

Pre-cultivation instructions
Sow sparsely in damp seed compost at 20°C. After sprouting, place in a bright, cool area. Give fertiliser sparingly. Can be transplanted to 1 plant/pot of fertilised soil. Harden off and transplant outside after the last frost.

Level soil, water before sowing. Keep seeds moist until they germinate.
