Can growing be made easier than when using a seed tape? Tear off a strip that fits in your pallet collar or your plot, place the seed tape in the soil row and water generously before covering the seed tape with about 1 cm of soil. Ideally, cover the seed tape with a fibre cloth to protect it from uninvited guests such as birds and to speed up germination. Keep the seed moist and it will germinate within 2–4 weeks! This lovely mix is filled with ‘All the year round’ lettuce, ‘French Breakfast’ radishes and ‘Amsterdam Forcing’ carrots.

Ensure that no ends are sticking up (otherwise birds can pull the tape out). Sprouting time 2–4 wks. Covering with a fibre cloth gives faster sprouting. It’s important to keep seeds moist.
