Well-known, very traditional and stately cultivated plant used in cold remedies. This variety has large deep red flowers with the typical upright central bud. Very easy to grow and hardy, beautiful and long-lasting in bouquets. Prefers a protected, sunny area and well-drained soil.

Sow in damp seed compost. Keep the soil’s surface moist. Cover with fibre cloth and place the seeds in a cool place at about 20°C until they germinate, it takes about 10-21 days. When plants can be handled put 1 plant/pot in fertilised soil. Transplant outside after the last frost. Harden off before transplanting.
