Fun, fast-growing ornamental gourd. Can grow against a trellis, on the ground or on compost. The yellow flowers are succeeded by turban-like gourds in orange, red, green and white. Edible but mainly grown for decoration. Best grown in nutrient-rich soil in a warm spot. Water well.

Fill the pot with 2/3 fertilised compost and top with 1/3 seed compost. Sow 1 seed/pot. Keep moist. Place in a warm spot while they germinate, then in a bright area at 20-25°C. Water and fertilise. Transplant outside after frost.
When the soil is at least 15°C. Water the area before sowing. Keep seeds moist until germination.
