Basil is an aromatic and fragrant herb with large, dense leaves that are full of flavour. The herb has a fantastic taste and works great in many dishes. Pinch the entire top off and try it with tomato and mozzarella or add it to your pasta. This ordinary variety of basil thrives in well-drained soil that is watered and fertilized regularly. Make sure to regularly add nutrients. Basil can be grown outdoors in a sunny warm area, or indoors in cycles and cultivated all year round. Simply provide the herb with some extra grow lights during the darker months of the year.

If you want to cultivate basil outdoors, start by pre-cultivating the seeds indoors. Sow the seeds sparsely in a pot of damp soil and place it in an area at room temperature. Once the seeds sprout, transplant 3-4 plants per pot and use additional light during the darker months of the year.
