Peppermint

An undemanding peppermint whose aromatic leaves are perfect for summer sauces or a mild cup of tea in autumn! Spring is the perfect time to sow the peppermint indoors in pots to be planted out later, or direct sow at the growing site. Be patient! It can take a long time for peppermint to germinate, so it’s important to keep seeds moist. Harvest the leaves one at a time – new ones will grow throughout the season. In the summer you can direct sow outdoors at the growing site. In autumn, you can sow peppermint in pots and pick the leaves throughout the winter. In this case, the plants may needs grow lights. You can even continue sowing over the winter! Sow either in pots to pick leaves or cold-sow outdoors, which is best done in a pot. Peppermint will then grow in spring.
