Round beetroots that are dark red all the way through. Especially suitable for pickling. Don’t sow too early. Tolerates spring frosts better than many other varieties, does not flower as easily. The young leaves can be used in the same manner as chard. Best grown in nutrient-rich, humus-rich soil that retains moisture. Thin out early. Loosen the soil around the plants.
