Kalette is a cross between Brussels sprouts and kale. Small, flower-like heads with a sweet, nutty taste develop along the stem. Harvest in late autumn gradually as the heads ripen. Prefers loamy, humus-rich and well-fertilised soils. Water in dry periods.

4-6 wks. before replanting outside. Sow in damp seed compost at 22°C, keep moist. After sprouting, place in a bright, cool area. Transplant when plants can be handled, 1/pot of fertilised soil. Harden off before transplanting.
Level soil, water before sowing. Keep seeds moist until they germinate. Starting seeds is recommended.
